Homeward Bound - Out to Africa - Cape Town 2025

Our flight home was at 10 in the morning. It's only supposed to take 40 minutes to get to the airport. However on a Monday the rush hour starts earlyand was chaotic! Red traffic lights were being ignored by some and getting onto the Motorway was particularly hazardous. A vehicle passed us on the inside on a single lane slipway. That was bad enough but the errant vehicle nearly took out a pedestrian wandering on the hard shoulder. The next hour, or so, was spent watching almost balletic lane swapping. The worst offending were the mini buses which use any opportunity to move lane to gain inches of advantage. All along the road, particularly at junctions, locals were waiting for their rides. We were relieved to get to Budget and to drop off our little blue car that had served us so well.  We passed the obligatory inspection and a friendly porter was on-hand to take us to check in. With bags dispatched we head for departures and our second breakfast of the day.

Job Done!
