The end of May 2025 and a trip to La Manga beckoned. It was a big birthday so I received special treatment. We headed out from
Bournemouth airport, always a treat, to
Alicante on
Jet 2. A great relief not to have to drive to one of the London Airports. Parking at the Airport is pricey so we parked at the small Air Museum and walked to the Terminal. The flight, with Jet 2, was brilliant. The service in the cabin was top notch.
We had booked a car from
Click Rent. Their office was on the
Alicante Airport perimeter. We found the courtesy bus eventually and were whisked to the office. WE were happy witht the car and headed off towards La Mange. We got lost many times on this trip and and we made a poor start by heading for the departure terminal and having to drive through a restricted area.
Anyway we reached La Manga Club OK and were grateful for an early check-in to our very posh apartment.

La Manga Club is a sprawling, sports and leisure resort, known for its golf, tennis and football facilities. There are a whole range of different dining and accommodation options to choose from. It would take more than a week to get round the all. It is set amidst the hills and is near the Med. It's not the real Spain of course and has quite an English feel to it. |

We had a lovely well equipped apartment at
El Rancho with a shady terrace so we were quite happy. The only problem we had was in a bedroom we did not use, wood lice were unwanted guests downstairs. They were getting in from the terrace so we sorted them out eventually.

We did not do too much travelling, the drives to and from Alicante were our longest journeys. We did go to Cartegena whci was interesting. It has a very well preserved Amphitheatre and good shopping centre. Fortunately we went on a Bank Holiday so the shops were closed😂.
Two evening dining excursions to Cape Palos were enjoyable. Bocana De Palos Restaurant was our favourite.
There is a very pleasant section of unspoiled coastline that we we enjoyed around the Calblanqe National Park although TW was. a bit worried about the snakes.
