Life on the beach
Our second trip to
Cornwall this year found us staying in
Luxury Pod on a campsite near
Hayle. We lasted one night! We managed to upgrade to a
static caravan. Pods are for campers. Apart from regaining sufficient space to swing the cat, we do not have, it was also much closer to the beach. We liked it there so much we even stayed on for an extra night. We didn't have any complex plans for our week in Cornwall. We just planned to visit some of our favourite places.

Trengwainton Gardens
Located just to the North of
Penzance, Trengwainton NT gardens are among our favourites. It's fairly compact with beautiful plants. After the rain of the previous day everything was looking fresh. There is also a decent coffee shop in the walled garden.

Mousehole
The pretty village of Mousehole was lovely in the sunshine. It can get really busy in high season but today it was quiet and relaxed. We parked on the road in from
Newlyn and walked in. A personal highlight was our chat with a chap living just above the town with a small garden overlooking the bay. He has a nice bird, a seagull called
Limpy. Our new pal nursed the bird back to health after it broke it's leg. Now Limpy flies back daily to see his pal. There could be an element of cupboard love of course.

Godrevy
Just up the coast from Hayle is a large
National Trust area. Parking is free for members and its a great place to take in stunning scenery and have a blow by the water.

The
Roseland is a lovely area of Cornwall. We parked in Portscatho and had a simple lunch at the
Hidden Hut. We took advantage of the lovely walks along the coast and I had a dip in the sea.
The Boathouse Cafe in the village is a great place to stop and enjoy coffee and cake.

Any trip to the area would not be complete without a wander into St. Ives along the coastal path. We had ambitions to have lunch at the
Porthminster Cafe but the whole area seemed to be taken up with a food festival happening at the weekend.

Coverack
Coffee and cake at
The Loft, had to be done. Like a lot of rural and coastal communities that have sold off their properties to second homers, Coverack seems to now have lost all its shops. We did find the Loft and enjoyed a nice coffee and cake. We also invested in two lovely pasties and were given a great tip to go and visit a sculpture park above the town. It was well worth the walk to the
Terence Coventry Sculpture Park. Terence was a pig farmer who, when he retired took up sculpture, and installed his works in a park like setting.

Sennen Cove
Sennen Cove was quiet in May. We enjoyed a coffee in the small village and took a walk in the direction of
Lands End. The sea was not too rough so a good location for a dip on this warm and sunny day.
